# Teca > Teca is an iPhone app for vinyl record collectors and DJs. Scan a sleeve to > identify the record and pick the pressing, keep your collection in 3D crates, > import your Discogs collection, let Apple Music suggest records for your > wantlist, and build DJ setlists from your own records. On the App Store > for iPhone, free for the first 1,000 members. Not a marketplace. Teca is operated by LOUIE & TODD INC. The pages linked below are the source of truth; this file matches them as of 30 September 2026. No launch date has been announced. What Teca does today: - Scan a sleeve. Point the iPhone camera at the front, back, barcode or label of a sleeve, or pick a photo. Teca identifies the record, helps you choose the exact pressing (label, catalog number, year, format), shows Discogs asking prices for reference, and adds it to your collection or wantlist in one tap. Sleeve photos are used only to identify the record and are not kept. - 3D crates. Browse your records the way you browse a crate: sleeves face out, one flick at a time. On iPhones that support AR you can place a crate in the room; the AR camera feed stays on the device. - Discogs import. Bring an existing Discogs collection and wantlist across by public username or by signing in on Discogs' own site. Discogs folders become Teca crates. Condition grades, notes and custom fields do not come over yet. - Send changes back to Discogs (BETA, off by default). Records and wants you add in Teca are added to your Discogs account, and Teca removes only what it added. - Apple Music. Connect it and Teca reads your library, playlists and recently played songs to suggest records for your wantlist or collection. Nothing is added until you say so. Needs an active Apple Music subscription on the device. - Wantlist. One tap away at the register, so you do not buy a double. - DJ setlists (BETA). Build a set from your own records; Teca estimates each track's BPM and key automatically, marked ≈, from the recording at normal speed. - Previews. 30-second track previews where available, with listen links out to streaming apps. Coming soon (not in the app yet; no date announced): - Setlist energy estimates and suggested pairings. BPM and key estimates already show, marked ≈. No date announced. You still check the blend yourself. Availability and price: - Platform: iPhone only. There is no Android app yet. - Status: on the App Store for iPhone. Install it through the App Store link below. - Price: free for the first 1,000 members. No ads, no in-app purchases, no marketplace, no commission. Teca does not sell records. - Account: Sign in with Apple. Delete your account any time from inside the app (Account > Delete account) or by emailing support. Deletion wipes your collection, wantlists, crates and setlists. Integrations at a glance: - Discogs: import works today; send-back is BETA. Optional. Teca is not affiliated with, endorsed by or partnered with Discogs; it uses Discogs' public API under their terms, and you can disconnect at any time. - Apple Music: works today. Optional; iOS asks your permission first. Teca does not store your listening history. - Spotify: coming soon. Access is by request for now. Apple Music covers the same use. ## Get Teca - [Get Teca on the App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/teca-vinyl-crates-setlists/id6762250311): iPhone; free for the first 1,000 members. - [Join the waitlist](https://teca.wtf/): email, and a phone number only if you offer one; one note when access widens. ## Pages - [Teca for iPhone](https://teca.wtf/3d): the product page: scanning, crates, Discogs and Apple Music sync, setlists, and the download link. - [Landing page](https://teca.wtf/): one-line pitch, the waitlist form and the 16-second film. - [The film](https://teca.wtf/video): 16 seconds of Teca: scanning a sleeve, spinning crates in 3D, walking into the shop with a wantlist. - [About](https://teca.wtf/about.html): why Teca exists, plus answers on legitimacy, why not just use Discogs, the waitlist, selling records and what happens to your collection data. - [Privacy policy](https://teca.wtf/privacy.html): what is collected and why, feature by feature (account, collection, Discogs, Spotify, Apple Music, scans, analytics), and how to opt out. ## Support - [Support](https://teca.wtf/support): searchable help page. "Report issue" and "Share feedback" at the top open short forms on the page; bugs, feature requests, account and deletion requests can also go to 32_false.ascot@icloud.com (replies usually within a day or two). Also a short FAQ (price, devices, installing, adding records, Discogs import, fixing a pressing, crates, the wantlist, prices, offline use, Apple Music and Spotify, DJ setlists, privacy, deleting your account, reporting a bug), terms at a glance, and the two guides below. - [Find your pressing by its runout](https://teca.wtf/support/runout): 2-minute guide. The runout (dead wax) is the smooth ring by the label; its code tells reissues with the same barcode apart. Walks through one real runout part by part (side, catalog number, cut and stamper codes, plant code, signature), which parts narrow a pressing down, where else to look (center label, spine, barcode, inner sleeve, hype sticker), how to match both sides in Teca, and reading tips. - [Grading a record’s condition](https://teca.wtf/support/condition): what Mint, Very good and the other grades mean for a record and its cover, and how to check yours. - [Getting around 3D crates](https://teca.wtf/support/3d-crates): 20-second guide. Open 3D crates from the Crates tab, slide between crates, tap a spine to pull it, press and swipe down the spines to sift, pinch to zoom, two-finger drag to orbit, and AR. ## Blog - [Teca blog](https://teca.wtf/blog): notes on record collecting and preparing vinyl DJ sets. - [7 ways to prepare a vinyl DJ set](https://teca.wtf/blog/how-pro-vinyl-djs-prepare-setlists): group the bag so you can find records, pack alternatives for the slot, keep tested pairs together, and label the outer sleeve. On a conventional turntable, +6% pitch is about a semitone. Note BPM and key at 0% as a reference, then check the blend at the speeds you will use. Updated 30 September 2026. ## Optional - [How do you dig?](https://teca.wtf/shape.html): a five-minute research questionnaire about how collectors live with their records; nothing to sign up for. - [Sitemap](https://teca.wtf/sitemap.xml): every public page.
